Ask HN: How do you optimize your website for bots/agents?

I run a somewhat popular website and have recently noticed an increase in traffic from bots/agents. I want to make the site faster, more efficient, and easier for agents to interact with so they can complete their tasks quickly and with fewer errors. Any insights/tips would be greatly appreciated!
