Ask HN: One-Shot or Iterate?

Hi experienced LLM practicioners. Since I've been hearing a ton lately to reset the context/chat extremely often (some say every time!), are we supposed to be attempting to one-shot everything, even for a complicated project or a prompt with many bullet points (that often will need to iterate upon each other in order to be successful)?

Or should we be iterating one task/step at a time with the model as was/had been the more traditional/previous advice?

Things are moving so fast that it's hard to keep up. Thanks for any feedback!
