    This is a repeat url, but ever more helpful to remind us UK does not 'depend' on natural gas, albeit wholesale prices are apparently still set by the price of it

      The UK depends on natural gas as most people get heating and hot water at home from gas boilers.

      As I type this comment your link also shows that 30% of electricity right now is being generated from gas turbines. So that's a hard dependency for electricity, too.

      Lastly, as you mention gas prices also set the price of electricity so a spike in gas prices impacts everyone [1]
